Dammee is grateful for the opportunity to study in Canada.

“Where you come from or the past doesn’t define you. Attitude, perspective, and passion make use of it…Be grateful for the chance…you got,” she said.

She gave back to WLU on November 17, 2015. She set up Brantford campus’ first Mock Refugee Camp with the help of the WUSC local committee and staff. They set up a tent to educate people of refugees’ daily plights and to provide awareness about the WUSC SRP.

In April 2016, Sero was awarded the 3M National Student Fellowship Award. The $5,000 award demonstrated her leadership abilities and academic accomplishments.
