It's quite a process to reflect on all that has happened in the last week - we've done so much! With such a limited amount of time to explore a large area with so many significant places in Biblical history we've been hitting multiple sites each day. Normally I don't have an issue thinking of at least something that I would like to blog about, but in this situation I still haven't managed to wrap my head around all that we've seen and how I feel about it or my reactions to the things and places we've been, which makes writing something public a little difficult.I do know that it's an incredibly rich experience and one that I am so thankful to have!
In staying in the Old City of Jerusalem, walking the perimeter walls, walking to the top of the Mount of Olives, eating fish and skipping stones at the Sea of Galilee, wading through water in Hezekiah's tunnel and visiting Bethlehem, we have been able to picture things from the bible in a different way. It's been a challenge to really get enough of a chance to sit and reflect while we are at the sites, simply because there is so much tourism and noise - but thankfully we aren't limited to this time span of a crazy week to do so! I'm looking forward to being able to picture more fully what the Bible describes as well as understanding a little more of some of the context as I continue reading and studying.
